2015 WINNER - AzPPA Frank Rigo Award - Highest Scoring 1st Time Entry (print competition)

Born and raised in rural Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh, I can't recall a time in my life that I didn't have a pet of some sort and a camera in my hand. From my very first beagle pup, Sandy, that allowed me to dress her up and take pictures to our sweet Sparky (pictured above). I "rescued" him from a pet store in 2000 - THE BEST $50 I've ever spent! He was a momma's boy and we loved him to pieces. We lost him in 2011 after a two year battle with seizures and infections. During that time, I was snapping pictures like crazy, trying to capture all the memories I could. I believe this is when the seed that would be called Pawztography was planted, though it wouldn't come to fruition until 2012.
Pet rescue is a huge part of my focus, becoming a voice through pictures for those that cannot speak. I'm an artist member of HeARTs Speak, a 501 c3 organization that supports artists working on behalf of animals in shelters, and offer pro bono photography to various rescue groups in the Phoenix area.
